Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle heavy lifting and loading/unloading tasks. The Delivery Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and accurate deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling of items to prevent damage.
- Use pallet jacks and forklifts as necessary for moving heavy items.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each route.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status.
- Handle manual transmission vehicles when required.
- Assist with moving items as needed during deliveries.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices.
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Knowledge of using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other loading equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as part of daily tasks.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively while on the road.
