Position Summary
As an IT Senior Engineer at Montana Construction, you will lead our IT support efforts, providing technical expertise, project coordination and dedicated support to ensure the technological needs of our employees are met. The successful candidate will take ownership of tasks, work independently, and partner with management to ensure smooth operation of technology across offices and field sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or 10 years of experience in Information Systems, with a focus on network hardware/software management in both operational and project-driven environments.
- Proven leadership in technology solutions, project management, and team collaboration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Cloud apps (Office 365, Intune, SharePoint, Exchange, Entra ID, Teams), data warehousing, and cloud technologies.
- Experience translating business and technical requirements into actionable designs.
- Expertise in streamlining deployments, reducing redundancy, and leveraging automation.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Curiosity and passion for staying current with IT trends.
- Ability to work independently within established guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Resolve complex technical issues, collaborating with teams and leveraging best practices.
- Lead IT projects, including cloud migrations, infrastructure improvements, and system migrations.
- Ensure positive IT service experience through problem resolution, timely communication, and managing multiple tasks.
- Support cybersecurity efforts (threat management, vulnerability assessments, security operations).
- Design and deliver software/hardware solutions aligned with business needs.
- Define requirements for new applications/customizations, following standards and best practices.
- Research and implement modern technologies supporting business strategy.
- Manage and support cloud/on-prem environments, applications, and infrastructure.
- Oversee cloud vendor relationships, including licenses, contracts, and security.
- Perform preventive maintenance on technologies and endpoints (e.g., firewalls, switches).
- Maintain technical documentation and playbooks for knowledge sharing.
