What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Operator Qualifcation Program position at Montana-Dakota Utilities Co?
Provides central leadership and direction to Utility Group management for combined utility operator qualification (OQ) functions that are compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for planning and coordinating the Company OQ program objectives and administration of required training and testing documentation. Interprets and advises field supervision of operational codes, standards, and local, state, and federal laws to ensure understanding and compliance. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.
- Must possess a working knowledge of technical training concepts and principles, and 49 CFR 192 subpart N and other utility safety regulations and standards normally acquired through a four-year degree in education, a technical focus or related program or equivalent field experience; and
- Seven years’ progressive experience in the fields of electric, natural gas, or propane including prior supervisory or progressive leadership experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
- Required to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Requires occasional overnight travel.
- Experience with outside vendor record keeping software (EWN)
- Experience with process audits.
- Manages and provides direction and development of the Company OQ program.
- Leads discussions with Field Operations and other department’s management and supervision to identify OQ requirements.
- Responsible to manage the development of technical training for OQ tasks in collaboration with Technical Training, Safety Management, Field Operations, and other group’s leadership.
- Advises and assists management and other departments in implementing technical testing programs for utility and non-regulated programs, safety, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures and provides technical support to resolve issues.
- Maintain detailed records of schedules, testing dates, and pass/fail rates for Operator Qualification.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
