We seek an Accountant to join our team at the Central Service's Division. In this role, you will manage financial records essential for maintaining the Montana Department of Justice's financial integrity.Salary: $ 25.00 - 29.00 HourlyLocated in Helena, Montana!Fantastic State of Montana Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, health, dental, vision coverage, and retirement plans.Student Loan Forgiveness: Employment with the State of Montana may qualify you for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.Productive Work Environment: Be part of the Central Services Team that values creativity, innovation, and collaboration.The Accountant 2 serves as one of the Agency’s accountants responsible for coordinating and overseeing a variety of financial accounting functions including: tracking and reconciling agency billings, entering accounts payables and receivables, assisting with internal control testing; audit of the procurement card processing; preparing adjusting entries in the Statewide Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resource System (SABHRS) to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger modules; and accounts reconciliation to ensure accurate and efficient application of generally accepted accounting principles.The position serves as an Agency authority in accounting issues and is responsible for ensuring consistency, efficiency, and overall quality of accounting and fiscal records.The position also provides a variety of informational assistance to support ongoing Division and program operations and performs a variety of other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.Two years of accounting experience.Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.Note: Don’t quite meet all the requirements, but still confident you could crush it as an Accountant for DOJ?
