The Montana Department of Justice is hiring a dedicated Program Coordinator for the Montana Missing Indigenous Persons Task Force. This role will be vital in fostering partnerships and raising awareness.Salary: $ 25.00 - 27.00 HourlyFabulous State of Montana Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, health, dental, vision coverage, and retirement plans.Student Loan Forgiveness: Employment with the State of Montana may qualify you for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.Work Environment: Be part of a team that values creativity, innovation, and collaboration.Located in beautiful Helena, Montana!The Montana Department of Justice (DOJ) Missing Indigenous Persons Task Force Coordinator position will support the Montana Missing Indigenous Persons Task Force (MMIPTF) in their work. The MMIPTF is appointed by the Attorney General and is administratively attached to DOJ.The work of the task force includes: Identifying causes related to indigenous people missing persons reporting;Identifying strategies to decrease jurisdictional barriers in diverse law enforcement agencies;Administer the Looping In Native Communities (LINC) grant programAdminister the Missing Persons Response Team training grant program;Provide accurate information and data about missing persons in Montana;Work to reduce the number of missing indigenous persons in Montana.Providing formal recommendations to the Montana Legislature, Elected officials and state government departments.The Coordinator will work with task force leaders to schedule meetings, keep a record of task force business and implement both grant processes.The job will include outreach and education in tribal communities and with tribal agencies, data analysis, report writing, and presentations all aimed at improving Montana’s response to identifying, reporting and locating missing American Indians and Alaska Natives.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, sociology, or related fields.Experience as support staff for boards, councils or other formal work groups.Ability to plan meetings and events.Experience with interdisciplinary, cross jurisdictional, rural, urban and tribal professionals in governmental and non-governmental agencies.Demonstrated experience in program development, grant management, and the impact of crime on individuals, families and communities.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated experience with responsive support of a council or board.Experience with research of evidence based best practices, drafting policy and procedure, and writing legislative reports is required.Data collection, management and analysis skillsStrong ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with diverse agencies.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or social services field.Successful applicant(s) will be subject to: Criminal History Fingerprint CheckIntensive Background CheckDriving HistoryHOW TO APPLY: To be considered for this position, you must attach a résumé at the time of application.RESUME: Please include all work experience as well as job duties that demonstrate your qualifications for this position.
