The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Compliance Auditor. This position examines and evaluates conformity with state laws, federal regulations, and other compliance components through conducting performance and compliance audits, other engagements, special projects, and investigations. Performs planning, field work, and reports the results to MDT administrators and management. This position will be part of the internal section which concentrates on providing MDT with audits designed to add value and improve efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s operations, internal controls, and compliance. This position will report to the Compliance Audit Manager, Internal Section and is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities.

Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, information technology, or a closely related field.
- Compliance Auditor 2.1: One year of experience in audit, compliance, or related field.
- Compliance Auditor 2.2: Two years of experience in audit, compliance or related field, with one year directly related to GAGAS.
- Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered, such as 5 and 6 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of auditing and GAGAS standards.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to form and document logical conclusions. Provide recommendations based on the conclusion.
- A resume detailing your qualifications and work history.
- A cover letter of no more than two pages addressing your qualifications for the position.
