What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Curriculum position at Montana Office of Public Instruction?
Harrison School seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic 5th/6th Grade Teacher to join our Wildcat family. The ideal candidate will create and deliver engaging lessons across various subjects, foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, and support students' academic and social development. This candidate will collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning, use various teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning abilities, and create a safe and respectful classroom culture.Â
The applicant must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid State of Montana teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements.Â
Harrison is a small rural school serving the communities of Pony, Norris and Harrison. Harrison is located outside of Bozeman. The school is 46 miles west of the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the campus of Montana State University. We are 5-15 minutes away from Harrison Lake, Norris Hot Springs, multiple trail heads, Lewis & Clark Caverns, the Madison River, the Jefferson River and Ennis Lake. The Madison River is a popular place to fish and float the river in the summer months.Â
The Harrison School District has approximately 50 students, K-8, and 10 students in the high school. We have updated teaching materials and technology. In part due to our size, we are a 1:1 school for technology. Harrison is a great little school in a caring community that is often quick to support the school and our students—Harrison co-ops multiple sports with the Whitehall Trojans.
There is a veteran presence on staff. We encourage outdoor learning, and students and staff participate in an annual ski day at Bridger Bowl.Â
There is no school housing available, but the school will try to assist a successful candidate in finding housing. Some of our staff reside in Whitehall, Three Forks, or Ennis.Â
Salary Range: $31,953 (FY25 Base)
Signing Bonus: $1,200
Insurance Contribution: $8,040Â annually
The district provides free lunch for staff.
Breathtaking view of Hollowtop Mountain: Priceless!
Several extra-curricular opportunities are available that provide another way to be involved in student learning.Â
