Elementary Curriculum

For 2025-26 School Year – Combined Grades Elementary Teacher.

Cardwell, a stand-alone K-8 elementary located approx. 50 west of Bozeman and 30 miles east of Butte along the I-90 corridor seeks a dynamic teacher for a combined classroom for the 2025-26 school year. Boasting a small teacher to student ratio, we offer a family atmosphere and were recently named the best elementary school in Montana by Family Minded Magazine!Â

Salary: $36,730 (FY25Â base but we do anticipate meeting the STARS act criteria), 166Â Instructional days PIR, we accept 8 years of experience, full single health insurance paid by the school as well as a $50,000 life insurance policy, vision and dental are available.

While many schools are opting for a 4-day school week, a 5-day week fits best for Cardwell. School is expected to begin September 3rd and will end May 21st during the 2025-26 school year (subject to change). Average enrollment is 35 students.Â

Cardwell is a rural agricultural community rich in outdoor opportunities including fishing, hunting, and hiking, and is only 2 hours from Yellowstone National Park. While it is still Montana, we generally have mild winters and beautiful summers.

Essential Duties

• Plans and develops course of study suitable for grade levels following curriculum guidelines.
• Develops and presents specific lesson plans using a variety of means including lectures, projects, discussions, field trips, computers, and the internet.
• Prepares assignments and tests; monitors, assists, corrects, and grades student performances.
• Maintains order in the classroom and administers discipline when necessary.
• Keeps records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation
• Consults with other professionals where there appears to be evidence of learning disabilities or problems of social adjustment, coordinates decisions with parents concerning any intervention.
• Complies with board policies, rules, regulations, and directives.
• Participates in staff meetings, educational conferences, professional training seminars and workshops.Â
