Community Engagement and Training Specialist
Job Title: Education and Training Coordinator
Location: Montana Rescue Mission – Billings, MT
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | Some weekends & on-call as needed
Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 per year

About Us:
Montana Rescue Mission (MRM) has been serving the homeless population in Billings, MT and surrounding areas since 1948. We are committed to treating all people with dignity, compassion, and respect while addressing the root causes of homelessness, such as addiction, generational poverty, and lack of education.
We are seeking a passionate and organized Education and Training Coordinator to support our shelter guests by providing access to vocational training, spiritual programs, and personal development opportunities. This role is essential in equipping individuals with the skills needed for employment and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Program & Curriculum Coordination
- Organize and coordinate instructors for vocational training, groups, and classes.
- Research and review curriculum to ensure it aligns with shelter guest needs and outcomes.
- Teach relevant classes when needed.
Program Evaluation & Development
- Assess program effectiveness by analyzing graduation rates, attendance records, and participant feedback.
- Provide certificates of completion for guests at each program phase.
- Ensure guest attendance and engagement in classes and training.
- Serve as an advisor for vocational training and skill development opportunities.
Community Engagement & Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit and engage community members, volunteers, and instructors for programs.
- Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to secure appropriate instructors.
- Ensure proper staff and volunteer coverage for all educational and vocational programs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (required).
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in social services (required).
Preferred Experience:
- 3 years of leadership experience
- 3 years of training or education experience
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in
- Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint) and media equipment
Soft Skills:
Strong time management, public speaking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Other Requirements:
- A heart for ministry and a desire to serve the homeless, addicted, and mentally ill.
