Montana Rescue Mission (MRM) began in 1948 to serve the homeless population in Billings, MT and the surrounding areas. Our core values are to treat all people with dignity, compassion, and respect. Our programs and services are designed to help end the cyclical nature of homelessness. We are addressing causes, such as addictions, generational poverty, lack of education, diminished mental or physical capacity, and others as well as serving those who are struggling to overcome these barriers, one person at a time.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the Program Director, the Education and Training Coordinator supports the Montana Rescue Mission guests by providing access to skills development in a range of vocational and spiritual programs, groups, and classes. This position plays a key role in helping shelter guests develop the right skills for the labor market, including upskilling and re-skilling.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinating various instructors for programs and groups.
- Reviewing curriculum for classes for appropriateness.
- Teaching relevant classes as needed.
- Evaluating the success of programs and classes.
- Providing certificates of completion to participants.
- Ensuring attendance and engagement of guests and attendees.
- Acting as an advisor for vocational training opportunities.
- Ensuring staff and volunteer coverage for groups and classes.
- Engaging with community members to recruit instructors and volunteers.
- Working with the Volunteer Coordinator to find appropriate instructors.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent.
One or more years of experience in social services or education is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
