JOB POSTING
TITLE: Water Worker 1, 2 or 3
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Public Works Director
WAGES AND BENEFITS: The wage for the position depending on experience is $18.00 to $21.79 an hour. This is a full-time position and the work is done typically between the hours of & am and 5 pm. City of Lewistown provides health insurance, paid time off and other benefits. Retirement is required. There is a six-month probationary period.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks to install, maintain, and repair the water distribution system and the sanitary and storm water systems. Work varies little and individual judgment within prescribed standards and procedures may be required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Physical requirements include bending, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. (greater with assistance). May perform work in uncontrollable working conditions of heat, cold, and dampness. May be exposed to some chemicals.
SUPERVISION – RESPONSIBITLY FOR WORK OF OTHERS: Dependent on experience.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school or its equivalent. Experience in maintenance and construction desirable. Must possess a valid Montana Operator’s License.
