What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker I - Montana State University position at Montana State University?
Under general supervision of the management staff, Baker I’s actively work in the high volume production of baked goods.
- Production of cakes and cookies and other desserts, scaling, mixing, and handling.
- Proofing, and baking of all cake and raised donut products, sweet dough, and danish.
- Making of muffins, turnovers, and pastries.
- Operating large-scale and specialty bakery equipment.
- Instruction and oversight of student employees.
- Properly follows sanitation guidelines and handles food in accordance with FDA food codes and as directed by MSU’s Registered Sanitarian. Ensures sanitation guidelines are being followed at their station.
- Regularly assists with the cleaning, disposition and storage of foods (hot and cold), supplies, and equipment in accordance with the sanitarian’s recommendations.
- Actively contributes to the team by performing other duties as needed in support of the department’s mission.
- Shift is generally Sunday 6am-2:30pm, Monday-Thursday 9am-4:30pm.
