Museum of the Rockies (MOR) is Montana’s most visited museum, a college-level division of Montana State University, an independent nonprofit organization, a Smithsonian Affiliate, an accredited AAM museum, and a repository for state and federal fossils. The interdisciplinary museum has one of the finest collections of paleontology in the world and a significant cultural collection from the Northern Rocky Mountain region. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in the organization and maintenance of the Store, Storerooms, and help direct student employees in the same practices through hands on training and communication of changing procedures or practices.
- Opening and Closing the Museum Store; selling memberships and merchandise. Accurately manage cash handling including management of tills, credit card payments, refunds, exchanges, gift card sales and discounted sales.
- Tracking and resolving any cash drawer or credit card discrepancies.
- Supporting the restocking of products in the store along with following policies and procedures for inventory management and other responsibilities as required
- Responding to customer requests and questions and emergency situations as needed.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Experience in retail sales, shipping and receiving, POS systems and cash handling processes.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with a point-of-sale system or other electronic method of completing sales transactions; including reconciliation and bookkeeping experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Bozeman and the surrounding area.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
