Proper Hospitality is seeking a passionate Server to join our esteemed Food & Beverage team at Montauk Yacht Club, our 107-room luxury property with The Collective.
Spanning 35 acres on Montauk’s Star Island, Montauk Yacht Club offers waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. Holding eight decades of East End history as an elite social club and thoughtfully reborn for the modern traveler, guests can expect classic East Coast architecture, well-appointed interiors and detail-driven amenities.
Job Overview
As a key ambassador of Montauk Yacht Club, you will provide an elevated dining experience that reflects our commitment to exceptional hospitality. The ideal candidate possesses refined service skills, a deep appreciation for fine dining, and the ability to anticipate guest needs with professionalism and warmth.
- Provide an elegant and intuitive dining experience, ensuring each guest receives personalized and attentive service
- Greet guests warmly, present menus and make thoughtful recommendations based on their preferences
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, relay them to the kitchen/bar, and serve courses promptly with finesse
- Monitor guest satisfaction, proactively addressing any concerns to ensure a seamless experience
- Exhibit a deep knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation techniques, wine pairings and dietary accommodations
- Set up and maintain the dining area, ensuring tables are properly set according to hotel standards
- Uphold cleanliness, organization and mise en place throughout the shift
- Process guest checks accurately and efficiently, handling payments and gratuities with discretion
- Assist in maintaining inventory and restocking necessary supplies
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure a cohesive service flow
- Demonstrate a polished and professional demeanor, embodying the brand’s ethos
- Work harmoniously with colleagues to create a positive and dynamic work environment
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Participate in pre-service meetings and training to continually enhance skills
- Previous experience in luxury hospitality, fine dining or an upscale restaurant preferred
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service; Sommelier certification is a plus
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and connect with discerning guests
- Impeccable attention to detail and a passion for hospitality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining grace under pressure
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages, in accordance with local regulations
