Qualifications :
- Teaching certification with five (5) years of professional experience at the secondary level preferred
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students and parents
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students
- Ability to lead teams and individuals by using excellent interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of MTSS which includes research based best instructional practices
- Competent in the use of technology to promote efficiency in the position
- Experience with Positive School Climate (PSC) systems and Restorative Practices preferred
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Organized and strong work ethic
Essential Duties :
The MTSS Coach shall serve under the direct supervision of the Middle and High School Principals
Provide leadership for building level systems teamsp
Coordinate and monitor PBIS / PSC implementation
Support teachers to improve the quality of instruction and student engagement through the use of coaching cycles and practices within coaching models supported by research
Stay up to date on the latest research, techniques and technologies to support teaching and learning
Utilizing Adult Learning Theory, provide professional development as identified in partnership with continuous improvement team and / or principal
Monitor and support student behavior through systems and instructional coaching within a continuum; prevention of behaviors within the classroom, response to behaviors within the classroom for minor behaviors and response to office managed major behaviors.
Monitor and coordinate behavior intervention systems including : CICO, Peer to Peer, and other interventions as identified at the building level
Ensure that behavior data is utilized for decision making by managing the SWIS database, training new staff and ensuring protocols are followed
Facilitate Student Intervention Team / Tier 2 / 3 Team
Classroom Instructional coaching support for classroom / behavior management, lesson design, engagement and all other Tier 1 instructional strategies determined to be necessary by the continuous improvement team
Perform other related duties as directed by the Middle or High School Principals
