Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to lead our beverage operations at our prestigious fine dining restaurant. The ideal Bar Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire bar department, ensuring the highest level of service and customer satisfaction. The Bar Manager will possess strong leadership skills to manage a team of bartenders, maintain inventory, and curate an exquisite cocktail program, all while upholding the restaurant's standards of excellence and attention to detail.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions / Abilities
- Lead and supervise the bar team, providing guidance, training, and motivation to ensure an efficient and professional service.
- Create and maintain an upscale cocktail program, crafting innovative and classic cocktails that complement our fine dining menu.
- Supervise the floor during service hours, ensuring that all guests receive prompt attention and personalized service while maintaining the restaurant's standards of excellence.
- Manage the inventory of spirits, wines, and other beverages, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop beverage menus that align with the culinary offerings and seasonal changes.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the bar area, ensuring a visually appealing and inviting atmosphere for guests.
- Implement and enforce all beverage-related policies, including responsible alcohol service and compliance with local regulations.
- Oversee the handling of cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and accountability in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor bar costs and expenses, working with vendors to negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to exceed guests' expectations.
- Stay updated with industry trends and continuously seek opportunities to enhance the bar program and improve overall operations.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, share best practices, and encourage teamwork and collaboration.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service and a seamless guest experience.
- Perform periodic evaluations of bar staff to identify areas of improvement and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.
- Work closely with the restaurant's management to plan and execute special events and promotions to drive revenue and customer engagement.
- Work on creating attractive and appropriate HH and promotional offerings at the bar
- Responsible for creating and executing staff plans and ensuring proper staffing levels are met to meet business needs.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency / effectiveness.
- Manages time appropriately to accomplish all tasks. Works well under pressure, has a good understanding of strategic planning and problem solving.
- Receives and validates the accuracy of orders received. Communicates with all vendors and holds them accountable for delivering the highest quality product on a timely basis.
