Job Description SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, Office for Social Justice and Diversity, the Coordinator for Student Access to Community Services supports connections to internal and external community-based social resources to support student success and increases access to community resources in order to further equity and inclusion initiatives. The Coordinator will accomplish this through awareness campaigns and program recruitment throughout the community to reduce stigma of accessing services, e.g., applying for SNAP, accessing career clothes. The Coordinator manages the operations of complex student services such as the food pantry, career closet and Swipe Out Hunger meal plan donations and other student food insecurity programs. They will create opportunities for students, foster a welcoming environment and encourage utilization where resources can provide relief. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the operations of the on-site food pantry and professional career clothing closet. Develop and implement policies and procedures including processes for defining populations served, hours of operation, product/goods ordering practices, inventory rotation and tracking, distribution models, promotional/awareness campaigns, and processes for serving students and completing and storing client documentation. Develop, implement and evaluate special projects and funding requests related to the career closet, food pantry and other community-based initiatives. Coordinate periodic clothing and food drive activities. Coordinate meal donation programs such as Swipe Out Hunger, and other special initiatives to mitigate student food insecurity in partnership with Dining Services and other campus stakeholders. Evaluate student eligibility for these programs and coordinate the access/disbursement to eligible students. Organize all inquiries and application requests regarding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Conduct regular information and educational sessions on SNAP benefits. Proactively build and coordinate relationships with donors for all initiatives, e.g., pantry, closet, etc. Coordinate outreach campaigns, food and clothing drives, University flag raisings, conferences and educational events, and other programmatic activities aimed at addressing social justice issues and access to community resources. . Organize operations and logistics and manage volunteers. Build and maintain effective communication and cooperative working relationships with University administrators, faculty and staff, students and student organizations, government and private agencies and/or the public in order to accomplish the objectives and programs of the unit. Collaborate with and assist staff in the Office of the Dean of Students regarding social services, entitlement programs and other resources, and ad hoc projects to increase student access to resources. Represents the University at conferences, seminars or meetings as required. Engage in professional development. Serves on ad hoc and standing committees as required. Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment in both the food pantry and career closet. Track utilization and efficacy data on initiatives and maintain records in compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain integrity and appropriate confidentiality in University and program operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in a field related to the position. A minimum of two years professional experience in an institution of higher education or related field. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively. Knowledge of community resources and strong outreach skills. Strong project management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while balancing multiple projects. Demonstrated success in achieving results in complex organizations. PREFERRED: Master’s degree in a field related to the area of assignment. Experience collaborating with donors and building relationships within the community to support said initiatives. Understanding of the needs of diverse populations to serve students and guests with an inclusive approach. Experience in management of student services, guest services, event planning and logistics. Experience with large scale event management or coordination. Food, Beverage, and Catering experience.
