The Provider Payor Credentialing Specialist (1099 Contractor) plays a key role in onboarding new providers by handling credentialing and enrollment with commercial insurers, Medicaid, Medicare, and associated systems (e.g., PECOS, CAQH). Responsibilities Include:
- Complete and submit provider enrollment applications with commercial payors, Medicaid, and Medicare across multiple states.
- Manage credentialing requirements in PECOS, CAQH, NPPES, and other relevant systems.
- Maintain up-to-date provider profiles and ensure timely re-attestations and revalidations.
- Collaborate with the Talent Operations, Revenue Cycle, Admissions, and Compliance teams to align credentialing with onboarding and billing readiness.
- Track and follow up on application statuses, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely approvals.
- Document and communicate credentialing progress and issues with internal stakeholders.
- Proactively identify process improvements to reduce delays and improve accuracy.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payor credentialing for healthcare providers and facilities is preferred.
- Strong verbal, written, and customer service communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, particularly when reviewing complex credentialing documents.
- Tech-savvy and self-motivated team player capable of working independently.
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, credentialing software, and shared drives.
- Experience with payor portals and navigating virtual meeting platforms (Webex, Zoom, etc.).
- Familiarity with payor credentialing processes, including CVs, PDF file management, and license verification documents.
