What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internship, Molecular/Cellular Biologist - 6 Months position at Monte Rosa Therapeutics, Inc?
Overview
Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking a passionate Intern - Research Associate, Molecular/Cellular Biology to focus on the development and implementation of proximity-readouts for single and multiplexed target screens. In this role the Intern will help to develop and expand our technical capabilities to detect proximity of E3 ligases and candidate proteins in the presence of molecular glue degrader compounds in cells. The candidate will establish robust assay conditions, assess suitability of the technology for high-throughput screening applications and explore opportunities for pooled target screens making use of deep-sequencing approaches
Responsibilities
- Cell culture, cell line generation and validation, sample preparation and storage, assay optimization, automation, analytical skills for process optimization
- Compound screens via medium throughput assays
- Establish assay validation routines and assess accuracy, reliability, robustness
- Data analysis and Interpretation
- Self-driven literature research in respective area of study
Qualifications
• Our preference is for a student currently in a master’s degree program in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field. • Individuals should have previous experience with mammalian cell culture, and typical cell biology techniques (e.g. viability assays, ELISA, Western Blot, cell line engineering),• Previous experience in molecular biology techniques such as cloning, construct design, sequencing and construct delivery to mammalian cells
