Monte Sano Research Corporation (MSRC) is a Huntsville-based Small Business specializing in providing full-spectrum defense system engineering, research, design, development, integration, test, evaluation, and planning services to the U.S. Government.
We are seeking a IT Systems Manager to lead the implementation of CMMC 2.0 Level 2 compliance for a cleared defense contractor. This role requires expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, process automation, IT service management, and cybersecurity compliance. The ideal candidate will manage vendor contracts, optimize IT workflows, and ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead CMMC 2.0 Level 2 compliance, proactively mitigate security risks, and implement best practices for system reliability, backup, and recovery.
- Microsoft 365 & Entra ID (Azure AD) Administration: Manage user access, security policies, Conditional Access, MFA, and role-based controls while ensuring compliance with DoD standards.
- IT Automation & Workflow Optimization: Design and implement Power Automate, Microsoft Lists, and Forms workflows for onboarding, travel, and expense approvals.
- Oversee and maintain on-premises and cloud-based systems for seamless integration, security, and performance in a hybrid environment.
- Lead infrastructure and security improvement projects, develop project plans, and manage execution within timelines and budgets.
- Implement best practices for system monitoring, performance tuning, and issue resolution to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with external vendors for IT procurement, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
- Maintain accurate system documentation, SOPs, security policies, and project records, providing regular updates to executives.
- Work closely with internal teams to align IT security, compliance, and infrastructure with business objectives.
- Respond to critical system incidents and emergencies, diagnosing and mitigating issues as needed.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Security CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
Experience:
- 10-15 years of information systems administration experience.
- 1 year minimum of Microsoft 365 & Azure administration preferred.
- Strong understanding of DoD CMMC IT cyber-security requirements, including CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171, and DFARS compliance.
Required Skills:
- Team participation skills as well as the ability to work independently.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
- The candidate must be able to work within a fast-paced environment, often with evolving requirements.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate must currently possess and be able to maintain an active security clearance.
