Overview
Monte Verdi at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant General Manager to help lead our restaurant team in providing exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This AGM will help oversee all aspects of the restaurant, from front-of-house operations to back-of-house management, and will play a crucial role in driving sales, improving profitability, and maintaining a positive work environment.
Duties
- Oversee all aspects of the restaurant, including front-of-house operations, customer service, and back-of-house management.
- Manage a team of bartenders, servers, hosts, and other staff members to ensure seamless service and high-quality food and drink offerings.
- Develop and implement effective shift management strategies to optimize labor costs and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Train and develop staff members to improve their skills and performance.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages collaboration, open communication, and continuous learning.
- Manage inventory and ordering to ensure that the restaurant always has the necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and to identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor sales, profits, and customer satisfaction to make data-driven decisions about menu items, pricing, and marketing strategies.
- Develop and implement effective marketing and sales strategies to drive sales and increase revenue.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the restaurant operates efficiently and effectively.
- Manage and resolve conflicts and issues in a professional and respectful manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints in a timely and effective manner.
- Participate in training development to improve the skills and knowledge of restaurant staff members.
- Ensure that the restaurant operates within budget and that all financial reports are accurate and up-to-date.
