FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-exempt (paid internship)
Purpose Statement
This role is responsible for supporting the internal communications of MVC by collaborating with various departments and creating assets that effectively convey the story of MVC. The position plays a key role in communicating events and programs, while articulating the narrative of MVC to current and prospective school families, employees, alumni, and community partners. Through creative and clear communication, this role ensures that the MVC message is consistently shared across all relevant audiences.

- Oversee department requests for design projects, website updates, and internal communication requests
- Oversee Merchandise inventory and orders
- Gather content for social media
- Organize digital content
- Create designs and assets that communicate events on campus
- Represent the Marketing and Communications Department in events and meetings on campus as scheduled
- Any other duties, projects, tasks, and responsibilities, as assigned
- Work well in team environment
- Ability to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects/deadlines
- Apply basic video production skills – operate Digital Video and High Definition cameras, and lighting equipment
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement projects with attention to detail
- Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations, priorities, requests, and needs
- Work independently or as part of a team toward shared goals and objectives.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Have attention to detail for written and visual media, including copywriting, proofing, and design implementation, etc.
- Actively support and participate in the development of the spiritual growth of those on our team and in our community.
- Represent MVC when working with outside vendors/partners in the development of various marketing projects.
Any combination of education and/or relevant professional experience providing the necessary and required skill(s)/knowledge for successful job performance is acceptable:
- 2 years of progressively responsible related professional experience involving the field of communications, marketing, and/or social media platforms.
- Experience with design programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Exceptional time/project management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, various other in house software/apps.
- Education: Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, or relevant experience
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major work in communications, media, marketing, public relations or related field.
- The ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Video/TV Production, or another related field
- Ability to safely lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to operate relevant office equipment.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and/or squat for prolonged periods of time.
- Work outside occasionally, over multiple terrains, and in varying weather conditions, as needed.
