FLSA Status: Full-Time, Seasonal (March 1, 2025 through August 01, 2025)
Compensation: $1,320.00-$1,500.00 per week
Position Overview:
The Summer Camp Director will oversee all operations of Camp Mustang, a Christian summer camp program for children ages 5-12. This role involves program planning, staff supervision, camper safety, and fostering a nurturing and faith-centered environment. The director will ensure the camp aligns with Monte Vista’s Christian values and provides an enriching, fun, and safe experience for all campers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate camp activities, programs, and special events for the afternoon session of day camp.
- Recruit, train, and supervise camp staff, including instructors and staff assistants, and staff for (1) pre and post camp day care, (2) “focused subject” morning sessions, and (3) recreational activities for afternoon sessions, ensuring an overall alignment with the camp's values.
- Schedule an “Open House for Parents” event prior to Day 1 of Summer Camp.
- Develop and enforce camp policies and procedures to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
- Working closely with the Campus Rentals Manager, manage day-to-day operations, including scheduling, supply inventory, and facility use of other sports camps in session at MVC.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and campers to build trust and engagement.
- Oversee camper registration, health records, and emergency procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in camp leadership or youth program management is a must.
- College degree in Education, Recreation, or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, engaged in cross-functional team collaboration at all levels of management.
- Commitment to Monte Vista Christian’s values and applied to the development of children.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle emergencies calmly.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to operate relevant office equipment.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and/or squat for prolonged periods of time.
- Work outside occasionally, over multiple terrains, and in varying weather conditions, as needed.

At Will Employment:
Employee understands and acknowledges that, unless otherwise defined by applicable law, any employment relationship with MVC is of an “at will” nature, which means that the Employee may resign at any time and the Employer may discharge the Employee at any time, with or without cause. It is further understood that this “at will” employment relationship may not be changed by any written document or by conduct, unless the MVC Head of School specifically acknowledges such change in writing.
Salary : $1,320 - $1,500
