The Department of Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) / Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) has exciting job opportunities in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
As the gateway to the only quaternary care Children’s Hospital in the Bronx, the CHAM Emergency Department serves infants, children, and adolescents to age 21, providing the full range of pediatric emergency services to children of varying medical complexities from our local Bronx community and throughout the Hudson Valley. In 2019, over 51,500 patients were registered in the Pediatric Emergency Department, with approximately 5200 admitted to CHAM, accounting for 70% of admissions to the inpatient units.
Patient care is provided by members of the Pediatric and Emergency Medicine house staff under the supervision of 20 faculty members, including 14 PEM board certified / eligible attendings and 7 pediatric nurse practitioners. The division also includes a highly sought-after PEM fellowship with 5 fellows. PEM faculty are leaders in various teaching activities within the Department and the AECOM community, including precepting clinical activities of residents and students, didactic teaching, running hands-on mock code workshops, and teaching PALS courses for community practitioners, residents, and nurses. They also participate in research and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities :
- Providing clinical care in the Pediatric Emergency Department.
- Conducting telehealth consults to other Emergency Departments throughout the Montefiore Healthcare System.
- Supervising and teaching residents and medical students.
We are looking for candidates with outstanding clinical and teaching skills and experience in research or ultrasound. Successful candidates will have opportunities to engage in medical education, clinical research, simulation, point-of-care ultrasound, and divisional and departmental quality and safety initiatives. Academic rank at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
