The Division of Critical Care Medicine, at Montefiore Medical Center, one of the nation's most prestigious academic medical centers and the primary teaching hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, is currently seeking an additional full-time Hospitalist to staff our Medical/Surgical Stepdown unit (SDU) at Jack D. Weiler Hospital.
The 18-bed SDU is brand new and will take a wide variety of high-acuity medical and surgical patients. Hospitalists will have primary responsibility for all medical patients and will co-manage all surgical patients in the SDU, in close collaboration with the primary teams - Surgery, CT Surgery and other surgical subspecialties. The position will be daytime only, 7 on/7 off including weekends. At night, the patients will be cared for by a PA who reports to a Critical Care Attending who is in the hospital.
Hospitalists have access to all the clinical and educational resources of the Division of Critical Care Medicine. Ample opportunities for research and quality improvement projects exist, for those who are interested. Skill in procedures will be appreciated but is not required. Procedures are optional. You can be credentialed on all standard Internal Medicine procedures you are comfortable with and wish to perform. Critical care consultation is available for any procedures you are not comfortable with.
To qualify, you must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine with interests in hospital-based patient care and clinical teaching.
Base salary: $150,000 - $162,500
Eligible for productivity bonus bringing total compensation to $324,500- $337,000. Productivity bonuses are paid quarterly based upon the revenue collected from the Hospitalist's billings at 50%
