What are the responsibilities and job description for the MESSENGER position at Montefiore Medical Center?
Transport patients, blood products, specimens and medical equipments throughout the Montefiore Medical Center in a safe and timely manner. Utilize transport equipment (wheelchairs and stretchers) when transporting a patient.
All patients will be discharged to the lobby to a care giver or other support person. Messengers do not perform curbside patient
discharges but they may use their discretion to go beyond the front entrance of the lobby depending on weather conditions or if the patient asks them to do so.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of the paging system and the automated EPIC system
