What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA LAB SUPERVISOR position at Montefiore Medical Center?
Responsible for overseeing HLA laboratory's quality assurance system that supports the transplant programs; primary responsibility of validation and implementation processes in collaboration with the HLA laboratory director; ensures regulatory compliance; staff training and competency assessment; and research and development activities. Assists with lab coverage in support of deceased donor transplant programs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree required
- 3 years of laboratory training or experience in clinical laboratory preferably histocompatibility, immunogenetics and/or transplantation immunology
- Certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI) as a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS); certification is highly preferred, but not required
- Experience with document control systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to retain confidential information
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization to influence participation in development, quality, and safety related programs/activities
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver results
- Ability to implement suggestions and recommendations
- Proficiency in managing HistoTrac and/or other laboratory information systems
- Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing is highly preferred, but not required
