What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technician position at Montefiore Medical Center?
Under the direction of the Ultrasound Attending or the Director of Ultrasound and Site Administrator, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical details. The successful candidate will use independent judgment and initiative to apply described scanning methods for purposes of Women’s Health OB/GYN medical diagnosis.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversight of assigned locations.
- Prepare preliminary written impressions.
- Cleans and maintains high level disinfection of equipment.
Please note: Position will require coverage/ travel between OB/GYN locations.
Education/skills required:
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Graduation from an accredited training program in diagnostic medical sonography which meets requirements for certification by ARDMS. Must have passed both Physics and Obstetrics and obtained ARDMS certificate.
- Minimum of 3-5 years working in an OB/GYN practice.
- Experience and skills in obstetrics and gynecology are necessary, in which the level of expertise will be determined by the Director of Ultrasound.
Preferred experience:
- Two years college or equivalent preferred.
