What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Therapist position at Montefiore Nyack?
Starting at $39.20 per hour (New graduates), $50 per hour with experience , with Shift differential pay
We have opportunities for a Licensed Respiratory Therapist Full Time with Montefiore Nyack Hospital to assist with Respiratory patient care under the direction of the Physicians. These positions are eligible for a sign on bonus! Full time hires would receive $5,500 and for Part Time hires would receive $2750.
The duties include:
- Assessment of patients: Examining patients to diagnose lung disease and breathing ailments
- Ventilator Care: Initiating, maintaining and liberating patients on mechanical ventilation
- Administering treatment: Giving patients oxygen, managing ventilators, and administering drugs to the lungs
- Assisting physicians: Helping physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures, such as arterial lines and intubations
- Developing care plans: Working with doctors and nurses to develop care and treatment plans
- Providing care: Providing care and treatment for clients with pulmonary disorders
Will provide care for a range of patients, from premature infants to elderly people with lung disease.
Responds to emergency calls, assists in administering CPR, and transporting patients according to established departmental policies. Completes equipment rounds according to established department policies.
