Linux Systems Engineer/Developer with Admin
Ansible and Hasicorp packer python exp. Some PowerShell is used. Terraform.
Long Term contract
Key Requirements:
- Strong Linux expertise (Ubuntu preferred)
- Automation & Engineering Mindset Focus on eliminating manual support tasks
- Experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, Citrix, Ansible, NFS, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Developer Tooling & Git Pipelines Ability to work with tools like Git, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD processes
- VDI & Networking Knowledge Supporting Linux Developer Desktop environments
- Scripting & Infrastructure as Code Experience with Ansible, HashiCorp Packer, Python, and some PowerShell
Role Overview:
- Support and enhance the Linux Developer Desktop environment for a growing developer community.
- Engineer automation solutions: single-click rebuilds, service discovery, and improved observability/reliability of Linux VDI offerings.
- Diagnose Kerberos, AD, and NFS issues while maintaining developer-friendly tooling.
- Improve base image configurations, testing, and rollouts to streamline support.
- Write clear support documentation and FAQs to enable self-service.
- Collaborate with a 6-person team (this hire will be the 7th).
