MONTEREY BAY CHARTER SCHOOL JOB DESCRIPTION CHILD CARE PROVIDER Job Title: Child Care Provider Reports to: Expanded Learning Opportunities Coordinator Evaluated by: ELOP Coordinator and School Director Terms of Employment: Subject to the letter of agreement Work Schedule: Part-time, non-exempt up to 180 days, in accordance with the school calendar Compensation: Commensurate with education and/or experience and in accordance with the MBCS Salary Schedule Primary Function: The Child Care provider supervises children in the school’s before/after school care program for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities: Handles family concerns and student incidents in a timely manner Keeps directors/site lead appraised of family and/or staff concerns and/or challenges Provides an enriching and fun environment for students before and after school Practices conflict resolution and positive discipline with students. Accompanies kindergarten students to the restroom as needed Participates physically with students as needed Implements Waldorf-inspired programming Supervise students while they are playing outside Engages in playing games with students Ensures children eat meals Assists in maintaining a beautiful and orderly play area and work environment. Work with students of all abilities in accordance with the ADA Implement school discipline plan as needed Other duties as assigned Professional Standards & Skills: Professional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills The ability to be creative, imaginative, patient, energetic, organized & resourceful Leadership and teamwork skills with a high level of dedication to work A clear & pleasant speaking voice that conveys confidence Positive conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle stress well Establish & maintain a positive rapport with children and families Self starter with strong time management skills & the ability t Monterey Bay Charter School is a TK-8 public school serving the Monterey Peninsula.
