We are seeking a full-time (part-time also available) qualified Registered Nurse to become part of our premier team. Our vascular surgery practice focuses on the specialization of minimally invasive endovascular revascularization procedures and a wide variety of various other (non-cardiac) vascular treatment options that concentrate on venous and arterial diseases. Our locations require onsite availability at our Salinas and Aptos locations. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in direct patient care in the emergency room, PACU, ICU, cath lab, or equivalent experience.  Additionally, a self-starter, that can work with a dynamic healthcare team. Experience in interventional radiology, dialysis, and cath lab is a plus.


The Registered Nurse will gather and input historical patient data, monitor patients and medications during procedures, maintain prescription drug logs, and provide clinical oversight to the clinical team during pre-and post-procedure duties. Additional duties may consist of one of the following: infection control coordination, safety/ environment of care responsibilities, and other clinical administrative tasks. This is a challenging, fast-paced job with Monday to Friday schedule, with sporadic weekend shifts. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be involved in all aspects of patient care from patient check-in, discharge, and follow-up phone calls.
  • Gather patient clinical information prior to procedures including patient assessments, patient history, and medication reconciliation.
  • Educate patients on physician orders, disease management, and discharge instructions.
  • Oversee patient workflow through the various stages of care to ensure patient safety and appropriate clinical guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing patient information to the surgeon and clinical team during procedures to deliver vascular surgery care to the patient including but not limited to cardiac monitoring, Aldrete score, and pain status. Will monitor patient vitals (HR, BP, O2Sat, EKG) during procedures.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care unit following vascular procedures.
  • Performs administrative support activities including answering and routing calls, correspondence, filing, faxing, and mailing.
  • Maintain daily narcotics logs, medication inventory, point of care testing logs
  • Liaison with pharmacies, physician offices, and dialysis centers to complete the full circle of patient care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience:

  • Registered Nurse: 2-3 years in dialysis, critical care, ICU, ER, or outpatient ASC/ cath lab/ OBL (Preferred)
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
  • Demonstrated superior customer service
  • Ability to adapt and learn at an excelled pace
  • Previous OR experience with vascular/endovascular, interventional radiology, or cardiovascular procedures (prefer OR circulating experience for endovascular). Must be willing to train to circulate.
  • Willing to train a superior candidate with commensurate experience outside of specialty

Position Requirements:

  • Current California RN license
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (or obtained within 60 days of employment)
