What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gel Coater / Auto Body Painter position at Monterey Boats?
Monterey & Blackfin Boats is currently recruiting an experienced Gel Coater to work on fiberglass boats. This is a 4 day/ 10 hour shift from 11:00PM – 9:45AM Sunday – Wednesday.
Auto Body paint experience usually translated well to this job. Experienced Gel Coater
- Minimum 1 year experience.
- Performs in mold application of gel coat on decks, hulls, liners, and small parts.
- Has a working knowledge of gel coat spray equipment, tip sizes, pump pressures and catalyst ratios.
- Must test gel coating spray equipment to make sure it is operating properly.
- Must be detailed oriented, quality minded, able to follow specific application procedures.
- Must be able to read work orders and fill out process document sheets for gel coat color application.
- PPE respirator required, must pass a pulmonary test. Other PPE required safety glasses gloves, Tyvek suits.
- Reliable transportation and good attendance is extremely important.
- Physical requirements, you will be required to lift, pull push, bend, squat, climb. A gel coater must be able to hold a spray gun for extended periods of time while gel coating parts.
Overtime may be required to meet production requirements.
