Phlebotomist

Join us as a Contract Phlebotomist at the White River Junction VA Medical Center located in White River Junction, VT.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

· The employee will perform patient phlebotomy to include inpatient ward rounds, inpatient and outpatient, Emergency Department (ED), STAT, as soon as possible (ASAP), and timed draws.

· The employee will perform sample processing and send out preparation.

· As part of safety, positively identifies patients prior to sample collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting.

· As part of safety and safeguards electronic and paper patient information.

· Independently tests, evaluates, documents, and reports patient testing and Quality Control (QC); identifies, documents, and resolves any collection, processing, testing or reporting issues.

· Identifies, documents, and resolves any collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues.

· Assures patient-centered care and provides service in a manner that is professional and will avoid complaints from all stakeholders and customers.

Schedule: Full-time, Day, Evening, and Night Shifts available. May be required to work some weekends and holidays.

Period of Performance: April 1st 2025-Nov 27th 2025.

Qualifications:

· Education. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.

· Certification. CPT and BLS required.

· Experience. Minimum 3 years phlebotomy experience required.

· Phlebotomists must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3.j.

· Subject to background/security investigation.

· All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

· Must pass TB test.

· Complete and online onboarding process.

· Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.

· Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.
