Job Summary
Under direction, through individual and group instruction, assists pupils to fulfill their capacities for mental, physical, emotional and social growth; uses teaching techniques appropriate to stimulate their abilities and interests; uses specialized materials, equipment and instructional procedures as necessary to meet the individual needs of blind or low-vision pupils
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor of Arts Degree from an accredited college or university
- California Teaching Credential authorizing performance of service with programs for the visually impaired
- Possess specialized techniques and skills pertinent to working with the visually impaired, such as braille reading and writing, training in use of various technological devices and optical aids
- Background and / or certification in orientation and mobility
- Knowledge of technology for Braille, large print and talking software
- Copy of Transcript
- Credential Copy (California Teaching Credential authorizing performance of service with programs for the visually impaired)
- Letter of Introduction
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 Letters Required)
- Resume
