What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bank Teller position at Monterey Credit Union?
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide service to members in a fast, accurate, friendly and professional manner. Perform basic member transactions while learning MontereyCU products, services, policies and procedures, and more complex member transactions. Sell Credit Union products and services as appropriate to the members' needs. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to each position. Member service and daily work load are negatively impacted if attendance and punctuality standards are not met. Some Credit Union positions are subject to audio and/or video surveillance. All computer and voice transmissions are subject to review by management personnel. All employees have access to confidential information - therefore each employee/each position accepts the responsibility to protect that information by following all Credit Union policies and procedures. While some of the specific responsibilities are listed below, this is not an all and inclusive list. Other duties on a short-term or long-term basis may be assigned.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Demonstrate a "do it right the first time, every time" attitude toward all job tasks. Suggestions for improvement always welcome.
2. Always promote teamwork and a positive attitude with co-workers.
3. Follow all accuracy standards and policies to prevent financial loss to member and/or Credit Union.
4. Process transactions accurately.Meet or exceed money sales goals. Work toward exceeding the established member service expectations. Must be able to open sub-accounts. Adhere to security precautions and procedures. Answer member questions or refer to appropriate staff member who can assist them. Educate members in the usage of our Remote Services. Learn all product information contained in Product Knowledge Handbook. Promote Credit Union business, products and services through direct or in-direct member. Know, understand and comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures as stipulated by the federal government’s Bank Secrecy Act, the Anti-Laundering Money Act, the USA Patriot Act, Privacy Act and Understanding OFAC.
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Basic reading, writing, math.
EXPERIENCE: No previous experience required; general business or office background, cash handling and/or customer service; sales experience preferred. Windows-based PC experience required.
PHYSICAL REQURIEMENTS: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to use a computer keyboard intermittently throughout entire shift. Must be able to (occasionally) lift 20 pounds.

CONTACTS: Constant face-to-face member contact; occasional member contact on phone; occasional phone and direct contact with other staff. To keep our staff as safe as possible, we have installed clear plastic barriers, and provided masks, gloves and hand sanitizer to all staff members.
SUPERVISION: Works under close supervision. Direction, guidance and coaching from Financial Service Supervisor, Branch Manager or individual(s) assigned by the Branch Manager.

Pay: $18.85 - $25.38 per hour
