Description

SUMMARY: The Lead Host is responsible for managing the reservations system and supervising the host staff proper flow of reservations and sections to ensure best service experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage reservation system in conjunction with Dining Room management team each shift to ensure proper flow of reservations and sections to ensure best service experience.
• Provide supervision and direction to other members of the host team. Relay any staff concerns timely to dining room manager.
• Maintain reservation system to include management of bookings and blocked time slots and update when necessary to ensure current dining room table configuration is always current.
• Confirm reservations when necessary and provide no shows to MOD for nightly report.
• Greet all members and guests with appropriate greeting upon arrival using names when known.
• Seat Members and guests according to reservations system and provide menus.
• Facilitate implementation of walk ins into nightly reservations in a manner that will not compromise service experience.
• Provide consistent and timely update to floor manager of table status.
• Answer telephone with appropriate greeting and book reservations when requested. Take message and forward calls to appropriate individuals as necessary.
• Assist Management with waitlist callbacks, special table requests and reservation confirmations.
• Handle all member requests, inquiries, and concerns appropriately and advise management of concerns when necessary.
• Familiarize yourself with the needs and wants of Members that frequent the Dining Room and anticipate those needs.
• Thank the members and guests when leaving and invite them to return.
• Ensure all services to members are provided in a highly professional and efficient manner with strong attention to detail.
• Adhere to Codes of Safe Practices while performing all duties. Report injuries timely.
• Report to work regularly and on time, follow directions, take criticism, get along with co-workers and supervisors, treat co-workers, supervisors and members/guests with respect and courtesy, and refrain from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior.

NONESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in providing a clean, safe, and sanitary dining room for members, guests, and employees.
• Assist with setting and clearing tables as needed.
• Assist with side working including buffing glasses and flatware, butter preparation, setting tables and stocking supplies.                                                                • Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to be reliable, responsible, and able to work well under pressure.
• Ability to read, understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work independently. Apply critical thinking to solve problems in standardized situations.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, menus, and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of general food service industry standards.
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule with holiday, weekday, and weekend availability.
• Ability to maintain a professional image and appearance as outlined in Employee Handbook and departmental standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in person, electronically, and/or by telephone, with internal and external customers.
• Working knowledge of, or the ability to learn reservation system.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• One year host experience in upscale environment.
• One year lead or supervisor experience in restaurant environment.
• Private club, resort and/or hospitality experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
• Possess Food Handler Certificate or can obtain within 30 days of hire date.
• Possess RBS certification preferred or can obtain within 30 days of hire date
• Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing duties of this job, the employee will be working within a well to dimly lit workspace and may be exposed to outside weather at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
• Stand stationary for over 75% of the time.
• Move regularly around the food service venues and other areas of the Club.
• Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machine, fax machine, Point of Sale system, and computer printer.
• Must be able to read and type standard correspondence on a computer.
• Frequently be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with Members, guests and staff regarding reservations and events.
• Must be able to detect items through the dining room, Club and kitchen.
• Occasionally lift and move tables, chairs and other supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. throughout the Club.
