We currently have a Compliance Tracking/Billing Clerk position available in our Production-Compliance department.
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager in the comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, and implementation of all compliance regulations as they pertain to Winery operations.
Essential Functions: The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Clerk is responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager with the following activities including but not limited to:
• Assist with preparing and submitting all required federal and state shipment government reports.
• Assist with preparing month-end billing and inventory reports for clients.
• Acquiring and maintaining various government licenses and permits as required.
• Assist with completing federal & state excise tax returns.
• Assist with monitoring and reviewing bulk wine tracking, assisting in daily processing of work orders as needed.
• Assist with maintaining inventory records for various locations as required.
• Assist with acquiring of wine label certificates of approval and maintenance of records.
• Participate in assuring compliance with TTB, ABC, & FDA regulations.
• Participate in developing compliance procedures for spirits business
• Assist with state compliance (brand registration, licensing) if necessary
• Participate in providing overall regulatory management for products and projects.
• Assist with developing regulatory submissions as needed.
• Participate in managing the daily processing of export sales including order entry, production, shipping and documentation.
• Assist with managing the import of bulk/cased wine including documentation.
• Assist with managing grower contracts and payments within wine tracking program.
• Maintaining compliance files and monitor document control activities.
• Serving as technical and regulatory interface for Winemaking, Finance, IT, Packaging Development and other departments.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years previous accounting or data entry in the wine/spirits industry
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in relevant field or equivalent (preferred but not required)
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Able to interact effectively within Production department and associated departments, as well as with outside vendors and government agencies.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow through essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent math skills.
• Advanced computer skills
• Microsoft Office
• Bulk wine tracking software, such as WMDB and QuickBooks
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines, manage priorities and workflow
• Familiarity with principles of data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.
