Description
This individual will maintain production and quality by ensuring a safe, reliable and DOT compliant operation of the Fleet’s commercial trucks and trailers by having a good knowledge & skills of mobile maintenance, troubleshooting, PM service and work order execution. This position reports directly to the Fleet Manager but also works closely with other departments such as Logistics, Plant Management and Safety Department to ensure a total approach to mobile maintenance & reliability are achieved when it comes to mobile Asset Health & Utilization. Such work must be held while upholding a high standard applicable to safety, TSIMCO guidelines/procedures and applicable state and federal regulations as mandated for our type of operation, including but not limited to appropriate environmental guidelines.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS
- Ensures operation of commercial trucks and trailers by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, hydraulics, transmissions following manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications
- Perform diagnostics prior doing any repairs to ensure the right parts are purchased/replaced and the right repairs are performed
- Follow paper-flow procedures by documenting all repairs on work orders and follow parts ordering procedures.
- Conserves mobile maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Provides mobile maintenance information by answering questions and requests
- Prepares mobile maintenance documents by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information in concordance with industry guidelines
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Diagnose, adjust, repair commercial equipment and hydraulics
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs on commercial equipment including engines, transmissions, clutch adjustment, brakes, suspension and steering, fuel and ignition, electrical systems, DEF/DPF diagnose and repair, sensors, injectors, EGR repairs and diagnostics etc.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on all commercial equipment and company vehicles.
- Perform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns, malfunctions and emergency roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. A final operational test on all vehicles will be performed after all requested repairs are done, to ensure quality-check and DOT compliance.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as lubrications, adjustments and safety inspections.
- Examine vehicle to determine if any additional safety or repair work is needed.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to walk comfortably up to a mile daily
- Will be required frequently to push, pull and climb ladders
- Requires balance and equilibrium when climbing ladders; walking platforms or support equipment in elevated areas.
- Regularly requires use of both hands for grasping and fine manipulations for repetitive motion
- Constantly required to hear sounds and have clarity of near, far and peripheral sight with depth perception

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- CDL Class A - Preferred
- High School Diploma
- Diploma or Certification in Diesel & Heavy Equipment Repairs preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Operations of heavy and commercial equipment
- Good general working knowledge of mobile maintenance equipment tools and diagnostic systems
- Basic knowledge in cutting and welding is a plus
- Good communication skills: verbal and written in English
- Knowledge in Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis is a plus
- Knowledge in mobile maintenance procedures & work order execution
- Familiar with hydraulics, electrical & PM development & execution
- Proficient in the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: fall protection, respirators and PPE
- Must be able to operate company handheld device, also must learn how to operate the DVIR app, so can keep track with all defects found on driver’s PTIs ca get them repaired in a timely manner.
