OFF-DUTY LAW ENFORCEMENT

Job purpose:
Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policy and procedures.
• Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, elevator emergency, and hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
• Must be an active Illinois Peace/Police Officer
• Must be able to provide (VE-PEC) verification of employment as Peace/Police Officer.
• Must have ability to maintain composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
• Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., cell phone, internet access).
• Must have reliable transportation
(Retired law-enforcement will have additional requirements)
Working conditions:
• Some sites consist of outdoor post that may involve working in inclement weather conditions.
Physical requirements:
• Standing and Walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be physically capable of lifting, pushing and or pulling at least 50lbs.
• Accommodate foot patrols on the interior & exterior of the assigned facilities.
