We are a respected Montessori preschool located in Decatur, Georgia, committed to providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Our school values Montessori principles and offers a holistic approach to early childhood education. We are looking for a Montessori trained teacher for newly added Georgia Pre-K classroom.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Primary Guide in a Montessori classroom, implementing Montessori principles and curriculum to foster independence, creativity, and a love for learning among young children.
- Create and maintain a prepared Montessori environment that supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities based on Montessori philosophy.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience for all students.
- As a Georgia Pre-K classroom teacher, implement the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) and curriculum guidelines.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development and prepares children for future academic success.
- Establish strong partnerships with families, encouraging involvement in their child's education and development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is a must, Master or Phd. degree preferred.
- Montessori certification (AMS or AMI) required.
- Master degree in Education preferred
- Experience working in a Montessori environment and familiarity with Montessori materials and methods.
- Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to promoting each child's individual growth and development.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
- Ability to create a supportive and respectful learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learners.
