What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Assistant Teacher position at Montessori Children's House?
Montessori Children’s House (MCH) seeks an Elementary assistant teacher for the school year (2025-26). We are looking for an experienced educator, focused on collaboration, to join our Elementary teaching team. The students are in grades 1-5.
As an assistant teacher, you would share classroom responsibilities with your co-teacher, including communication with parents, administrative duties, classroom management, some lesson presentation and general classroom upkeep. While a classroom assistant is not required to have Montessori certification, teaching experience with elementary aged children is required.
Our entire teaching team works together to create an environment that aligns with the Montessori pedagogy, while blending other focuses such as foreign language, music and art. All of our teachers are required to attend regularly scheduled meetings, school events, and contribute to a positive school culture.
