Toddler Lead Guide

Duties

• Lead and care for a small group of toddlers, guiding them through their day with patience, kindness, and empathy while supporting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Create and implement developmentally appropriate activities that nurture each child's natural curiosity and encourage independent exploration, all while incorporating the beauty of the Spanish language and culture.
• Build trusting, supportive relationships with each child and their family, communicating openly in both English and Spanish to keep families informed and involved in their child?s development.
• Observe and understand each child?s needs, adjusting your approach to meet them where they are in their individual learning journey.
• Foster an environment where children feel seen, heard, and respected, empowering them to make choices and take ownership of their learning in line with Montessori values.
• Cultivate a bilingual space that invites children to explore Spanish through songs, stories, and everyday interactions, helping them feel comfortable and confident as they grow their language skills.
• Encourage and support positive behavior and social skills, helping children learn to navigate their emotions and develop self-regulation through gentle guidance and Montessori practices.
• Maintain an organized, inviting, and carefully prepared classroom where children can explore freely with Montessori materials that spark curiosity and joy.
• Work collaboratively with a team of educators to create a cohesive, compassionate learning environment where every child is valued.

Requirements

• A heart for young children and a deep commitment to supporting their growth with empathy, patience, and care.
• A degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
• Montessori certification (preferred) or a willingness to pursue Montessori training.
• Experience working with toddlers in a preschool or similar setting, with a focus on nurturing and individualizing learning experiences.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English, and a desire to create a bilingual environment where language is learned through love and play.
• A solid understanding of Montessori philosophy and early childhood development, with the ability to create a space where children can explore and grow at their own pace.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or a willingness to obtain upon hire).
• A genuine passion for early childhood education and supporting young children as they embark on their learning journey.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a bilingual or Spanish Immersion classroom.
• Knowledge of or experience with child-led, inquiry-based learning.
• Experience in developing and implementing creative and enriching bilingual curriculum.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain an organized, inviting classroom environment.
• Ability to integrate mindfulness, movement, or art into daily routines.
• A passion for creating a diverse and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates different cultures and backgrounds.
• Experience with family engagement and building strong, supportive relationships with parents.
• Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a team of educators.
