Position Summary
Under the direction of the Extended Day Director, the Extended Day Assistant will work with the Extended Day team to support the on-the-ground planning and implementation of the Extended Day Program. This position is a part-time position, requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and supervise nap for toddler and primary children.
- Supervise indoor and outdoor recess for ages 3-12.
- Assist in planning and organizing exceptional, enriching extended day lessons and activities for children ages 3-12.
- Work collaboratively with the team to implement program activities
- Work within the schedule to ensure smooth and effective transitions between program activities.
- Daily room set-up and break-down, including but not limited to moving materials, supplies, and equipment necessary and setting up classrooms.
- Provide classroom coverage due to absences as needed.

Required Skills and Experience
- Strong commitment to, belief in, and alignment with mission and vision of school.
- Prior work experience in a school or childcare setting preferred.,
- Knowledge of Montessori Pedagogy preferred
- Minimum of one-year teaching or childcare experience with preschool and elementary-aged children.
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Openness to feedback, desire to continue development as a professional, and willingness to take responsibility for programmatic outcomes and achievement.
