Job Summary:
Montessori Kids Universe Louisville is seeking a nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented Assistant Infant Teacher to support the care and development of infants. Working under the guidance of the Lead Infant Teacher, the Assistant helps maintain a calm, engaging, and respectful environment grounded in the Montessori philosophy and responsive caregiving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily care of infants including feeding, diapering, napping, and comforting.
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing Montessori-aligned activities that promote independence, motor development, and sensory exploration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom in accordance with health and licensing standards.
- Build positive, responsive relationships with infants by observing their cues and needs.
- Help prepare and maintain Montessori materials and the physical environment.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents and staff to foster trust and continuity of care.
- Participate in team meetings, staff development, and school-wide events as part of the MKU Louisville community.
- Model and maintain a calm, patient, and positive demeanor throughout the day.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with infants in a licensed child care setting strongly preferred.
- Interest in or familiarity with Montessori philosophy is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.
- Warm, dependable, and collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must meet all state and local licensing requirements including background checks, TB testing, and health clearances.
