Spanish Teacher

The Montessori School of Dayton (MSD) is a private, non-profit school in Kettering, Ohio, dedicated to following the Montessori philosophy and fostering a love of learning in students. We are seeking a part-time Foreign Language Teacher for the 2025-26 school year to work with students ages 3-14 in small group settings.

While students have been studying Spanish, we welcome applicants who specialize in any foreign language and can bring an engaging, immersive experience to the classroom.

The ideal candidate is a dedicated team player who is flexible, collaborative, and passionate about language education.

Job Requirements:

• Fluency in the language being taught.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Prior experience in a Montessori classroom (preferred but not required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective classroom management and conflict resolution skills.
• Well-organized, compassionate, and adaptable.
• Ability to collaborate with Montessori-trained guides to align language instruction with Montessori principles.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans for small groups of students ages 3-14.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and language acquisition.
• Work closely with Montessori guides to integrate best Montessori practices into language instruction.
• Maintain an organized and clean classroom environment.

Hours & Schedule:

• 2-3 days per week
• 10-16 hours per week
