Overview
We are seeking a dedicated assistant to join Montessori School of Duluth in providing exceptional education in a newly-emerging bilingual (Spanish-English) classroom. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young minds in a nurturing environment.
We also seek a confident scheduler to manage staffing needs and to address on-site issues as they emerge. This person would also need to substitute in the classrooms, so a background in childcare is preferred.
Legal Requirements
- Pass DHS Background study.
- Obtain or possess a Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
- Follow MSD Policies and Procedures.
- Meet DHS training requirements, including Develop trainings.
Overview of Responsibilities
- Assist lead guide in implementing a Montessori educational program to educate and guide children ages 3-6 years olds.
- Ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Assist with use of toilet, mealtimes, napping, and supervising children.
- Foster childhood development through interactive play and learning experiences.
- Promote positive interactions among children.
- Collaborate with staff to maintain a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Use BrightWheel to communicate with families and staff.
- High quality maintenance of environment.
Professional Traits
- Prior Montessori training or experience.
- Conversational level Spanish preferred.
- Early childhood credits or diploma from a college or university preferred.
- Early childhood experience in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques and social-emotional learning.
- Honest, hard-working, and effective communicator.
