Reading Intervention / Academic Student Support
Montessori School of Flagstaff is seeking a Reading Interventionist / Academic Student Support for the 2025-2026 school year. Academic support takes place in the mornings with our 1st - 8th grade students in individual or small group settings.
This position can be combined with other part-time positions available to create full-time employment.
Terms of employment: Part Time (15-20 hours/week) (This position can be combined with other part-time positions available to create full-time employment)

Pay Range: $17.85-$20.00/hour depending on experience
Evaluation: Performance for this position will be evaluated by Director of Student Support Services
Job Summary
Required Qualifications
** Current AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required upon hire.
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to support children with learning needs
- Communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to educate diverse groups of children within a Montessori framework
- Dedication to professional learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field
- Experience in the Montessori classroom environment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Implement reading intervention strategies in a small group setting as instructed by the Director of Student Support Services, following a specific curriculum
- Conduct progress monitoring regularly to assess student growth and adjust instruction accordingly
- Assume responsibility for fostering development of children in alignment with the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori and the mission of the Montessori School of Flagstaff
- Carry out all specific instructions, procedures, and responsibilities as outlined by Director of Student Support Services and Site Administrator
- Maintain all certifications and licensing as required by the School and any regulating agencies
- Follow positive discipline procedures
- Ensure confidentiality of student records
- Collaborate with Director of Student Support Services, classroom teachers, and other support professionals
- Actively participate in all level, school, and organization staff meetings and learning opportunities
- Actively participate in family events
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and families
- Foster an atmosphere of respect and harmony; emphasize communication, cooperation and global awareness
- Communicate with Director of Student Support Services and Site Administrator when support with students, families, and/or colleagues is needed
