Montessori School of Iowa City is currently accepting applications for an assistant teacher to support grades pre-k - 6, building-wide. The Assistant Teacher helps to create a positive learning environment guided by the Montessori philosophies and curriculum throughout the building. The Montessori Assistant teacher works closely with the Certified Lead Teachers in all areas of the school (including the after school program) to ensure that the learning environments facilitate a peaceful atmosphere for learning. We offer on-site training. The start date for this position is April 1.
The hours for this position are 10:00 - 6:00, Monday - Friday. Montessori School of Iowa City is an accredited private school that follows the academic calendar of Iowa City Community School District.
The Montessori School of Iowa City is one of the oldest Montessori schools on the continent and is an Associate School Member of the American Montessori Society. The School serves students ages 2-12 in the Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty community by providing authentic Montessori education that supports the child’s intrinsic motivation to learn and is inclusive, sustainable and holistic.
