What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Janitor- Second Shift position at Montessori School?
The schedule for this job has some flexibility. The schedule will ideally be evenings from 5:30-9:30, depending on needs for the day, and Sundays for two hours in the afternoon/evening
Previous custodian/cleaning experience is required.
Skills and qualifications:
Good communication skills
Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them
Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces
Ability to lift, bend and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift at least 50lbs
Ability to follow instructions
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
Excellent time management skills
Punctual and reliable
Handyman duties:
Basic Repairs to restrooms as needed. Like a new flapper or handle
(No major plumbing)
Basic handy man skills for helping easy items happen such as when a breaker is flipped
Basic electrical skills are a bonus!
Minor repairs to the school such as hinges, replacing broken wood to fencing, etc.
Basic skills for Assembling school related items as needed
Custodial duties:
Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls and fixtures
Disinfect commonly used items like doors and doorhandles
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
Replace air filters
Service, clean and supply restrooms
Occasional after school activities will occur. Flexibility with advanced notice to come
after events and clean
Keep inventory of items on hand and let MSCC management know at least 7-10 days before you are out of an item that is integral to Daily operations
Must be able to lift at least 50 or more pounds for hauling of various items purchased such as sams items, or heavy bulk trash.

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
